When it starts, air and condensate can drain quickly. As the temperature rises, the heat inside of the temperature element expands and generates thrust, pushing the top rod through its internal elastic seal, which makes the valve opening less. As the temperature continues to rise, the strength of the thrust inside the sensor increases gradually and eventually causes the valve to close tightly. As the condensate temperature decreases, the temperature element inside condenses and the thrust disappears, forcing the valve to open through the reset spring.
